Holey Moley

Address: Level 1/162 – 170 Pulteney St, Adelaide SA 5000
Phone: (08) 7100 1146

Holey Moley is undoubtedly Adelaide’s most unique golfing experience.

As part golf course, part nightclub, Holey Moley marries together putt-putt and cocktails – a perfect combo in many peoples’ books.

The course’s 18 elaborate holes wind through the indoor venue, and with themes ranging from life-sized pinball machines to odes to The Simpsons, 80s and 90s kids will feel right at home with this trip down nostalgia lane.

Welcome to the par-tee, Adelaide!

Playing 9 holes will set you back $16.50 and 18 holes is discounted to $29.

Several food and beverage options are available, and while they no longer do karaoke, they have opened up a new arcade and video game console section on the ground floor for added entertainment away from the golf.

Kids’ birthdays can even be booked before 2pm on Sundays, but be aware that under 18s will have to leave the premises prior to 5pm.

A range of packages are available, so give Holey Moley a call on 7100 1146 or drop in at 170 Pulteney Street, Adelaide.

SHANX Regency Park

Address: Days Rd, Regency Park SA 5010
Phone: (08) 8268 5753

Under the guidance of Greenspace Management, Regency Park Golf Course is making a resurgence as an inner northern suburbs favourite.

Not only is the course looking in great condition, but the newly-opened SHANX mini golf course to accompany the 9-hole layout has got tongues wagging across Adelaide.

Opened in late September 2021, this brand-new 18-hole layout feels like the Augusta National of mini golf courses with its smooth, green fairways, pristine bunkers and undulating greens.

With a powerful lights system illuminating the course at night, it means you can go for a round after work or once the kids finish school – ideal for those who might be short on spare time.

While SHANX lacks the feel of the stereotypical mini golf course (there are no crazy clowns or other colourful obstacles blocking your route to the hole), it’s hard to go past its elegance, and the outdoor setting creates a completely refreshing vibe for putt-putt.

Pricing is just $14 per person, groups of 4 are under $50 and kids under 6 are free.

Contact SHANX Regency Park to book a round today.

Only $7 is needed to get you two rounds, with everyone from 3-99 years old welcome to play if willing, able and possessing the ability to stand upright.

Check their website for deals and offers, as savings can be had when bundling games of laser tag and mini golf together.

Dunes Mini Golf

Address: 1 Esplanade, Victor Harbor SA 5211
Phone: 0407 187 267

Dunes Mini Golf boasts a superb location, right in the heart of Victor Harbor’s esplanade.

A family day out or road trip south with the girlfriend will warrant a quick 18 holes here, with the fairy penguins just a stroll away along the jetty to help pad out the afternoon of entertaining activities.

The course provides a good balance of fun and challenge, with pelicans, lighthouses and sharks creating a consistent nautical theme.

Dunes Mini Golf opens daily from 9.30am, located at 1 The Esplanade, Victor Harbor around 75 minutes south of Adelaide’s CBD.

Under 12s cost a meagre $8.50, and adults are only $9.50.

If you’re down south and are looking to play a proper 18-hole course, you may wish to check out Mount Compass Golf Course.

West Beach Mini Golf

Address: 1 Hamra Ave, West Beach SA 5024
Phone: (08) 8353 0335

West Beach Mini Golf is a family favourite, part of the holiday complex located on Adelaide’s western shoreline.

Heavily frequented during the holiday period, you may want to avoid peak times unless you’re having a slow hack around with the kids.

The course provides enough interest to keep everyone guessing, back don’t expect anything too elaborate.

Nonetheless, the place is kept neat and tidy with a kiosk providing all the drinks or ice creams you’d need if you’re sweating it out in the heat of the afternoon sun.

Children under 15 will have to fork out $9 to play, adults will cost $11.

A modestly discounted family rate (2 adults, 2 kids) of $38 provides an option for the whole clan.

Want another round? It’ll only cost $4 each to go again.

Visit West Beach Mini Golf weekdays between 10am and 5pm, or on weekends between 9.30am and 5pm on the corner of Military Road and Hamra Avenue, West Beach or give them a call on 8353 0335.

Semaphore Waterslide Complex

Address: Esplanade, Semaphore SA 5019
Phone: (08) 8449 6323

The Semaphore Water Slide Complex, located on the foreshore near the Semaphore Jetty, lays claim to a 9-hole mini golf course costing a paltry $5 a round.

The course provides a great opportunity to take a quick break from a walk or bike ride along the trail that passes by the complex.

It is a fairly simple, but well kept, set-up and could even be tackled by proper youngsters.

If it’s a hot day, the water slides on offer at Semaphore provide the perfect opportunity to cool off post-game.

Opening hours vary with temperature and season, but the park will be in operation from 10am to 4pm most of the year.

Call Semaphore Waterslide Complex on 8449 6323 for more information.

If you’re wanting to squeeze in nine holes on a proper course while in the area, North Haven Golf Club is located only minutes away and is a perfect place for a a quick hit.

Barossa Bowland

Address: 89 Menge Rd, Tanunda SA 5352
Phone: (08) 8563 3177

Not only does Barossa Bowland offer ten pin bowling, its other (and in our opinion, more exciting) claim to fame is an 18-hole dinosaur-themed mini golf course.

The holes themselves are straightforward enough, with undulations, twists and turns your main obstacles.

However, kids will be highly entertained by the huge dinosaur sculptures scattered around the course, and adults will appreciate the tranquil, heavily-planted surrounds to drown out the sound of their own kids screaming.

Prices here are a little higher than many of the other courses detailed on this list – $13 for kids under 15, $15 for adults – but pair a round with a game of bowling and $22 is all you need, and turns out to be a pretty good deal.

Smaller children under age two are permitted on the course, as long as they have a fully-paying adult accompanying them.

Drop into Barossa Bowland at 89 Menge Road, Tanunda – located around one hour north of Adelaide – or give them a call on 8563 3177.

Similarly, the Barossa Valley has some of Adelaide’s best 18-hole golf courses, including Tanunda Pines, Sandy Creek and Barossa Valley golf clubs, that are well worth a look if you have more time for a proper round.

Elizabeth Bowland

Address: 11 Winterslow Rd, Edinburgh North SA 5113
Phone: (08) 8252 0488

Elizabeth Bowland is the home to a 9-hole mini golf course that will set punters back a mere $8 for a round.

The course is surf themed, but with a glow-in-the-dark appearance – an interesting choice.

Nonetheless, the layout twists and turns vibrantly, something young and old alike should enjoy.

Peculiarly, there doesn’t appear to be any bowling/golf combos at the time of writing, so if the family is looking to partake in both, pairing the two together won’t necessarily result in a discounted rate.

However, on Thursdays from 5pm, and Friday and Saturday from 9pm, is the ‘$6 Frenzy’ with all games on offer for a charitable – you guessed it – $6.

Food combos are available but, once again, they don’t throw mini golf into the mix.

Find Elizabeth Bowland at 11 Winterslow Road Elizabeth West, or give them a call on 8252 0488 for further details.

Those looking to squeeze in a quick round on a real course while up north have the option of visiting Penfield, Mawson Lakes or Playford Lakes golf clubs – which are all nine-hole tracks and fun to play.

The Beachouse

Address: 4 Colley Terrace, Glenelg SA 5045
Phone: (08) 8295 1511

The Beachouse in Glenelg provides one of the more aesthetically pleasing mini golf experiences in Adelaide with a well-kept and well-maintained outdoor course.

The Beachouse is located on Colley Terrace in Glenelg, easily accessible via the trams located on Jetty Road.

At the time of writing The Beachouse is operating on reduced hours, opening predominantly on weekends from 10am to 5pm.

Ensure to check their website before making the trip down to play the course.

Paying for a round here can be a little annoying with The Beachouse operating using a ‘Fun Card’ system – which is less ‘fun’ and more an excuse to make you pay $2 for a bit of plastic.

Once you’ve done this, if mini golf is all you are there for, you’ll need to recharge with 10 credits ($1 = 1 credit. Go figure).

In a nutshell, each game of mini golf will cost you $10, plus an initial $2 for the Fun Card.

Call the Beachouse on 8295 1511 or email [email protected] to find out more about packages on offer.

Hahndorf Mini Golf

Address: 17 Mount Barker Rd, Hahndorf SA 5245
Phone: 0435 226 160

Hanhdorf Mini Golf is located in a quaint little yard right in the heart of the town, around 30 minutes east of Adelaide.

It boasts a well-manicured garden and an ‘enchanted’ feel with gnomes, wishing wells and footbridges.

It definitely isn’t the most challenging course around, but if you’ve wandered down the South Eastern Freeway for lunch in the Adelaide Hills, there’s no reason why you wouldn’t want to drop by for a casual round.

The course is open from 10am-5pm on weekends and 11am to 5pm on weekdays, but keep in mind the need for cash during the week as no staff are present and an honesty system is in place.

Contact manager Tom Luke on 0435 226 160 for further details or swing by 17 Mount Barker Road, Hahndorf for a game.

Similarly, if you’re hoping to play a proper 18-hole course while in the Adelaide Hills, you can’t go past the quality Aston Hills Golf Club which is located nearby.

Drummond Golf West Beach

Address: Tapleys Hill Rd, West Beach SA 5024
Phone: (08) 8356 4888

More commonly frequented for its driving range, Drummond Golf West Beach is also home to an 18-hole mini golf course.

The layout is very basic, lacking significant challenge and no real themes to speak of.

Many patrons will find it a little bland and bare, and there are better options in the region, such as West Beach Mini Golf down the road.

If, however, you are looking for a quiet, no frills experience – or a play to practice your putting – this course sees little action, so you’ll be able to bound through with next to no company, even during school holidays or weekends.

A round of mini golf starts at $4 for kids, so the pricing admittedly reflects the simplicity of the course.

The range and mini golf set-up are open from 8am to 9pm on weekdays, closing at 7pm on weekends.

The mini golf course is floodlit so night time play is an option.

Call Drummond Golf West Beach on 8356 4888 or visit them just off Tapleys Hill Road in West Beach.
